A beautiful hiking trail along the Garonne
Connected to the existing Compostela routes “Conques-Toulouse”, the “Voie d’Arles” and the “Voie du piémont pyrénéen”, Via Garona is a 170 km pedestrian path with the GR ® label and offers you the opportunity to walk from the centre of Toulouse to the village of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges and its majestic cathedral in 7 to 12 sections.
From the Basilica of Saint Sernin as a starting point, follow the natural axis of the Garonne, following the example of pilgrims for centuries, and cross time at Muret, home of Clément Ader, Rieux-Volvestre, former episcopal city, the abbey of Bonnefont, the earthenware city of Martres-Tolosane, Saint-Gaudens and its collegiate church, all the way to the Pyrenees.
Accessible to all, Via Garona allows you to discover the Haute-Garonne in a different way, in colour, through 41 communes, along the 6 monuments listed as World Heritage by UNESCO and between two routes leading to Santiago de Compostela.
A promise of beautiful encounters and discoveries!
