PIBRAC CASTEL

A magnificent architecture in the heart of the Toulouse country, a park classified as a historical monument.

About

The castle rests on the foundations of a manor house destroyed in the 11th century. It was rebuilt in 1540 and is composed of three main buildings joined together at right angles. The central part, the oldest, already existed during the Renaissance when Peter the 1st and his son Guy the 1st added the lateral bodies. They carried out embellishment work under the direction of Nicolas Bachelier. The park, accessible to visitors, was designed by E. Bulher in 1889, a very pure landscape style composition without ornamentation, nor play of relief with umbrella pines and cedars.
