MAISON DU BARRY
About
The 18th-century ensemble, consisting of the Du Barry family mansion, is characteristic of Toulouse art. Built in brick, the hotel has a slightly protruding forebuilding with a Doric entrance door. Inside, the vestibule has an Ionic stuccoed order. The main salon and the games room are decorated with stucco and paintings. Two side wings were refurbished or built in the 19th century in the troubadour Gothic style. Jean-Baptiste Dubarry had his brother Guillaume marry Jeanne Bécu, thus giving her the title of Countess Du Barry, Louis XV's favourite. Private property.
