LOUBENS-LAURAGAIS

About

Built on a castle mound, Loubens Lauragais is a charming village marked by the period of "blue gold";, in other words the pastel trade, this deep blue dye that made the richness of Lauragais in the 16th century. Founded by the ancient family of Loubens, the castle was built as a result of the extension and remodelling of the seigneurial residence undertaken in the 16th century. Indeed, there are no remains of the first castle. The castle can be visited for groups by appointment and also for individuals during the European Heritage Days. You will enjoy walking through the village's alleys, which have retained all their charm of yesteryear.
