CISTERCIAN ABBEY OF SAINTE-MARIE-DU-DESERT

The abbey was founded in a Gascony valley in 1852 by Cistercian trappist monks coming from the abbey Notre-Dame d’Aiguebelle, Drôme.

About

The abbatial neo-gothic church was built in 1860 by the architect Delort, it is open to the public. It bears modern glass-windows by Marc Soulier. Audiovisual discovery of the life in the monastery. Shop dedicated to monastery arts and crafts. Discovery of the life and spirituality of Frère Marie-Joseph Cassant (1878 - 1903).
