About

As a tribute to Pierre Paul Riquet, creator of the Canal du Midi, this exhibition presents everything you need to know about this majestic waterway linking Toulouse to Sète: its history, its construction and its operation are evoked through educational panels and interactive models...as you follow your fun and instructive journey, you will understand why the Canal du Midi is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The visit, with the help of explanatory sheets, is free of charge. On reservation, a paying guided tour is possible in French or English.
Associated with this exhibition, a specialised bookshop and a "Tourist Information" point offer extensive documentation on the Haute-Garonne and the Canal du Midi. You will be able to take advantage of sound advice that will guide you in your research.
