CHATEAU DE COULOM
Coulom Château in Gibel was built by Jean Martimor in 1690. Louix XIV had sold him the “ Office of Kings’ Council, Maire of Gibel” The castle has to this day stayed in the Martimor family, amongst which there were lawyers, land-owners who developed the Pastel, the flagship of the Lauragais, notably the Councillor Jacques Rigaud de Rouvayroulis in 1750 and the Marquise Raymond Lasbordes, the great grand-mother of the present owner, Charles Martimor. The latter refurbished and renovated Coulom to make it the comfortable property of today, all in-keeping with its’ original architectural design. The façade is listed with the Historic Monuments.
