Green run-of-river rides

Take the time to follow the course of the Canal des Deux Mers in Haute-Garonne and in particular the Canal du Midi. Its work of engineering are remarkable, and a timeless beauty, along with an unrivalled inventiveness, distinguish this amazing construction conceived in the 17th by Pierre-Paul Riquet. It provides a total immersion in the characteristic landscapes of the Lauragais throughwich it passes on its way to the Mediterranean.

The canal des Deux Mers by bike

A cycling route linking the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, the Canal des Deux Mers winds for almost 800 kilometers, from the Gironde Estuary, via the Garonne Canal and the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In Haute-Garonne, for almost 80 kilometers, the cycle greenway enables everyone to ride safely from Toulouse to the northwards (Bruguières, Castelnau-d’Estrétefonds …) and southwards (Port-Lauragais and beyond to Sète, the end of the canal).
