The region owes its name to the pastel (woad) which made its wealth in the 15th century. Between tradition and modernity, the Pays de Revel invites you to serenity and the discovery of a preserved nature. Bastide Royale, Revel welcomes visitors under its 14th century hall, founded by Philippe VI de Valois in 1346, and its garlands. Thanks to the genius of Pierre-Paul Riquet, the waters of the Montagne Noire are collected in the lake of Saint-Ferréol and feed the Canal du Midi, Unesco World Heritage. The craftsmanship of the Meuble d'Art has been perpetuated since the 19th century and has allowed Revel to be labeled "Ville et Métiers d'Art".
