MERVILLE CHATEAU

A unique testimony to the architecture and art of 18th century gardens in the south of Toulouse.

About

The chateau was built in 1734 by the Marquis de Chalvet Rochemonteix, royal seneschal to Louis XV. The current owners, direct descendants of the builder, undertook an extensive renovation programme a few years ago to enhance the beauty of the chateau, its decoration and furniture.
In the lounges visitors will discover the Marquis' desk, splendid Flemish tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries and the Chinese salon with its painted panelling. ....
The 5-ha boxwood garden is classified and it shelters a 6km labyrinth, the longest one in Europe.
Come and discover a historical trail through the labyrinth which is punctuated with historical anecdotes. Download the mobile ap and 9 interactive terminals will make you discover the 250 year-long history of the chateau and of the park.
